Another Zoo Visit

In what may be old news by now, we made another trip to the zoo. Honestly, the free zoo might be the thing we miss most about DC. We've already been twice this year. I'm beginning to think that we've got a problem.....

Honestly I don't even know why we bother with
the zoo. Bryn always likes the ducks the best!!

As many times as we've been to the zoo, we still haven't visited every exhibit. This time we were tipped off to the Amazonian exhibit at the bottom of the zoo hill. You see they are building an enormous water portion at the zoo which will house the seals, sea lions, etc. Unfortunately the construction blocks the easy access to the Amazon exhibit. So, in order to get there you have to exit the zoo, walk up the sidewalk along the road, around the maintenance shed, and finally you get to the entrance. If Phil and Amy hadn't found out about it from a worker and then told us, we would never have found it.

The cool thing about the exhibit is that it is set up like the bird house. There are some fish tanks and open exhibits around the bottom floor and on the upper floor they have a large eco-system type exhibit. Except in this exhibit you don't have a bunch of birds flying around, you have monkeys swinging through the trees!! They literally sit on the trees right next to your face. I don't trust them though.... Devious little buggers with their small hands and beady eyes. Really though, they are just these cute little reddish monkeys that run around the tree tops.

Bryn liked the monkeys, but the puddles were better.
