Witches Fest

After living in the the greater Salt Lake area off and on for nearly three and a half years, I have finally become privy to the location of a charming little outdoor shopping place. (Seriously, I need to start doing more research regarding the area I live in. I can't believe I am just finding out about this place.) Gardner Village is collection of boutique shops that Nate remembered going to when he was little. One day after work, we loaded the kids into the car and headed down to check out the shops and get caught up in holiday atmosphere. While we were shopping, Nate came across this gem. A real, authentic aviator hat. Nate pulled the googles down over Hudson's eyes, and we couldn't stop laughing. Regardless of the price, that hat was coming home with us. And just like that, Hudson's Halloween costume was born.

We had a great time wandering through the different shops. We picked up a couple of new Halloween decorations and had fun looking at all the witches that were set up throughout the village. My favorite was the witch who either needed glasses or had poor depth perception thus finding herself wrapped around a tree with her legs splayed out and her broom all askew. Bryn loved the witch that had an electric cat chasing a mouse underneath her skirt. We had to visit that one several times before we could leave. Nate was impressed with the witch which was hanging by a wire and appeared to be riding a bicycle through the air. Hudson, who refused to play favorites, was equally fascinated by all of the witches.

The weather was on the chilly side so after looking around for a bit, we made our way over to the bakery and feasted on soup, cookies, and hot chocolate. Brynlee was able to choose her own cookie and selected one loaded with M&Ms. She is currently on a M&M binge thanks to her Grandad, who graciously shared his stash the entire time we were in Monticello.

It was a great afternoon. Bryn got many compliments on her coat and more than a couple of people were extremely envious of Hudson's new hat. I can confidently say that we will return to see what Gardner Village has to offer during Christmas time.
