Ocean City, MD

The posts should be appearing at a steady clip now. We've got a lot to catch up on from the first half of our summer. First stop, Ocean City.

In an attempt to escape from DC for a weekend, we took a drive with our friends Phil and Amy and hit the nearest beach. Unfortunately what we thought was only an hour drive, was actually closer to 3 hours. But, in the end, it was worth it. We popped in for the "OC Air Show" which provided a nice backdrop to our day at the beach. Ocean City was in many ways a replica of Myrtle Beach. Large hotels, heaps of mini-golf courses, and seafood restaurants galore. Here's a few pics from our beach day.

We saw, among other things, a stealth bomber, Red-Bull stunt chopper, parachuters, harrier jets, etc.

We did our best to assuage the little girl's fear of water, but to no avail. Her fear of waves came as quite a shock to us. Miss B is such a daredevil in nearly every other part of her life. She won't hesitate to approach a big dog, jump off our couch, run smack into a table leg and get back up without so much as a peep. But there are two things she just doesn't like - waves and the big toy at the park. Go figure.

At the end of the day we had one tired little girl.
